Why It Works

School Kids Diversity

Have you caught yourself wondering, “Why is my child having such a hard time with school?”  You may find your student trying his or her personal best, but still struggling with school.  Here are some signs that the problem is not necessarily with not knowing the subject matter:

  • Your child spends adequate time studying, but receives poor grades
  • Your daughter complains that she reads material over and over and still can’t “get it”
  • Your students’ grades have declined over the years
  • Your child can explain school concepts to you well, but tests poorly on them
  • Your son can’t explain why he doesn’t do well in school

These, and many other signs, point toward an issue with how your child approaches studies.  Unfortunately, most of us are never taught how to approach school – we’re just expected to pick it up.  But without foundations that teach us how to memorize, take notes, study, read analytically, and so forth, how can expect to achieve success?

Numerous studies indicate that good study habits are necessary to develop academic excellent.  The same could be said about how we manage our time and for a number of other areas that make up our concept of “good students.”    Expert students aren’t born – they’re made, by providing them with the appropriate tools for the classroom and explaining how to use them.

That’s what we do.
